Public Sector Video Series
Valley Water provides water for 2 million people in the San Francisco south bay. To accomplish this task they manage 10 reservoirs, 3 water treatment plants, and almost 300 miles of creeks.
To increase water security, Valley Water teamed up with two neighboring water districts to build a massive new dam in the hills 60 miles east of San Jose. This $2.5 billion project will increase the capacity of the Pacheco Reservoir from 5,500 acre-feet to 140,000 acre-feet.
How do you convince local residents to invest $2.5B in a project that they will never see and will take 8 years to complete? Valley Water asked Zooka to create a series of three videos that would help explain the benefits.
The Zooka team used a drone to take aerial footage of the valley where the new dam would be constructed. We then added animation effects and wildlife photography to help explain the economic and environmental impact of this immense public project.
The project included:
- Working with the County to establish communication goals
- Scriptwriting
- Storyboarding
- Drone shoot/aerial photography
- Wildlife photography
- Voice over recording
- Music Selection and licensing
- 2D and 3D animation
